What does your average day at Kingfisher Labels look like?
“My role as a QC Operative involves me finishing the printed work from the flexographic presses.
Each customer has its own unique job bag from which I take the information. This information is used to set up my machine. Once a job is set up, it’s double-checked and signed off. I run the job continually, checking the print as I go.
When completed, the job is packed and passed to dispatch to book out.”
What’s your favourite thing about working here?
“My favourite thing about working at Kingfisher Labels is the people—we all get on well together and support each other. We’re not just work colleagues, but friends.”
You’ve worked at Kingfisher Labels for close to two decades now. How has your job changed?
“Over my time at Kingfisher Labels, I’ve seen huge growth in the organisation and huge advancement in technology. The smaller, more compact machines I first started working on have now given way to modern, semi-automated turret machines.
The capabilities of these machines far outweigh the capabilities of the older ones. They enable me to do my job much more efficiently and are highly effective at producing high volumes of work. They are a joy to use!
Not only has the investment in new machinery helped bring about good change for Kingfisher Labels—so has the investment in new people and larger premises.
All of these elements come together to help us keep pushing the company forward within the industry.”
